HELLO WORLD!
I know, it's been ages since i last blogged, collecting alot of dust.
ANYWAY, there's been so much going on, i can't seem to decide where to begin.
I shall be very oraganised and spill my life story, according to dates. Lol

MONDAY, 25 August 2008

Went to Clark Quey to collect my Nike Race Pack, the queue was only about 2m long? Thank God i didn't go for the Sunday collection, would have had to stand for hours in queue, along with perhaps some 8000 people? (random number, but yeah there were A HELL LOT of participants) Nas and some of my other college mates went to collect on Sunday MORNING-early morning-and already the queue had extended all the way to Liang Court. Poor thing.

So anyway, i went on Monday with Misha and Nariah, we had a jolly good time at clark quey, sauntering in and out of shops as though Prelims was officially over, NOT. All had Geog p2 left and as for me, in addition to that was Art Theory. Couldn't help it, we were in desperate need of a break and so we decided to declare our own end to prelims (prelims suck big time).
Collected the racepack and received some goodies in it along with our nike run t-shirt (awful red i feel) and gantry chip to be placed on our shoe laces on the day itself as well as other stuff like a nike watter bottle, bangle etc.

After that we went to Manhattan Fish Market to fill our empty stomachs with what i thought would have been a more delectable economical students lunch meal had it not been for the rather bland fish. I could tell that the fish was fried while it was still frozen. I'm always on the hunt for good fish and chips, but Manhattan's is definitely not on my list of favourites. So far the best Fish and Chips I've had in my entire life, is at the restaurant which i use to frequent. Not sure if the stall still exists but the last time i went, it was at Geylang, in a rather secluded dilapidated building infested with bars and nightclubs or karaoke lounges. The place is quite sleezy i must say but trust me, nothing beats their generous serving of tasteful Fish and Chips set, equipped with a bowl of juicy salad topped with raisins and peaches, all for only $12.90 i think. Handsome deal.
Of course it's halal and the foodcourt's air-conditioned, somehow seperated from the bars and all. The next best, is Fisherman's Wharf at Clark Quey. The not halal part, was only made known to me by my sister AFTER i ate it. Oh well, tasted it once at least.

After lunch, we went window shopping and came across an adorable MissJiang-ish bag at Charles and Keith and we were set on buying it for her, only we were all out of moolas. So decided to put it on hold untill we collect the cash on Wednesday from the rest to purchase it. After CQ, we headed down to Dhoby Ghaut to window shop some more. Pleasantly surprised by a Body Shop sale at Plaza Singapure and went shopping for Miss Jiang's in-case-unable-to-buy-the-bag gift. Bought like a gift-set of body stuff for her and then went straight home to mug for Wednesday's Geog paper.

Manhattan's fish and chips, halfway through

In between was half a day spent with Hanis after some mugging. Slacked like nobody's business watching movies after movies at my place. We (mostly Hanis, i'm splattering-oil-on-fire-phobic?) cooked some stuff like fish....and chips...LOL. It wasn't intentional, i just happened to have both in my freezer.

Lazing around was fun =)

On Wednesday, after Geog paper ended, Misha and I went to collect cash from the rest of 1A08 '07 people and thankfully, almost all contributed so we had enough to buy Miss Jiang the bag. So we went to Bishan the next day after my Art paper to buy the bag from the C&K outlet over there instead of the one at CQ. Accompanied Misha go waxing at some salon-spa and then went to Dhoby Ghaut to get more of my Merrino Wool for my Art coursework (still undone, and deadline is 12 Sept for A-FREAKING-LEVELS! tell me i'm dead). Got lucky, no not in that sense, as in had luck in that something really great happened so much so that i managed to save 15 bucks. Hehehe.

FRIDAY 29th August 2008

After the celebration, we had a surprise 1A08 celebration for Miss Jiang. The cash that we collected from the whole former class managed to buy us a cake, a card, a bag and a body shop gift set. Miss Jiang better thank her stars for having such lovely students. But for all that she's done, lending me her umbrella, looking for umbrellas for me when i need to leave early from school during a heavy downpour, giving us marks and spencers' biscuits to motivate us despite not being our civics tutor anymore, etc, i guess she deserves all our thanks.

Miss Jiang very pleasantly surprised. =}

After the celebration, went straight home to get some afternoon nap before changing to go out and meet them people =)
Finally had outing with the 2/3-putris (hari raya term, while flagging taxi) minus Nas who couldnt make it, plus Faris who came late. Dined at our usual orchard Swensens and went to Rafflesplace to sit around and chit chat till late night after that. I do miss being with the Budak Melayu Anderson. Didn't visit Anderson so didnt get to see the rest. Should have another big mass gathering after Alevels. I can hear Siti saying "you're such a groupie!" lol.

SUNDAY 31st August 2008: NIKE HUMAN RACE 10K

Another one of the most significant days this year. I ran a 10km marathon along with some 10,000 other people from a whole spectrum of age groups. I saw some old people running, some ran pass me, some were right beside me at times. Very healthy bunch of folks. Of course, there was a handful of eye candies here and there.

SRJC won the 10 000 bucks, prize for winning school under the school catergory with most number of people who ran below 1hr 30mins. They should have no reason not to subsidise my courswork finances! =) I finished in 1hr 29 mins 45 seconds. Super close shave! My shoeS (BOTH) gave up on me halfway through, pass the 5km mark and started slapping the floor while i ran the remaining 5km. The soles of both shoes came off! NO WONDER MY SISTER DIDN'T BRING THEM WITH HER TO LONDON. And there i was, on Saturday night, thanking God for providing me with a pair of running shoes last minute. They were fine to begin with, apparently because my brilliant sister had attempted to salvage them by gluing back the soles. Now how would i have known that! Oh well, at least the pair helped me during my firt 5km. At the end of the race, in exchange for our gantry chips which recorded our net timing, each participant received a Nike Human Race bracelet for completing the race. It's quite cool. My handphone camera doesn't do justice to the bracelet. If You look closely, the metal plate has a picture of people running pass.

This was before the race, at the starting line which was extremely packed like sardine with race participants all geared up to run the marathon. It was hot, so yeah the air reeked of some manly body odour from perspiration and what not. In such conditions, it's would have been a boon to be tall, or taller =(. BTW! I saw Izzah at the race =) made my day that girl. Nas was there too but didnt see her, too many people around!

After the race

Nar, Me and Liy

Altogether!

Marhamah didnt get to come for the BLG concert after the race to accompany Tush. So being the good samaritan that i am, stayed back with Tush till 9plus for the concert despite our very jelly-like legs. They were throwing iPod Nanos for God's sake. No i didn't get one.

After the concert, we went to Marina Square's McD to have our very late dinner after which the horror of trying to get a cab in town area began. OMG i hate cabs in town. Seriously, we queued for like gazillion years at the taxi stand and taxis took forever to enter despite us, the whole queue having pressed the button at the taxi stand to signal taxi drivers into the waiting area. They were all waiting for the midnight charge to set in! Bloody hell, Tush and I got so pissed, whatmore with our extreme exhaustion from the run and concert, we nearly got into a quarrel over how to get home. It was kind of my fault on my part because i refused to train my way home in shorts and having to wait for bus and all after that. In the end, Tush's parents offered to pick both of us up at AMK. So we took the train there and they kindly sent me home. My dad and brother on the other hand, both with driving license, just couldn't reach into their hearts to find a tinge of sympathy enough to lift their lazy asses off the couch and pick me up. Couple of bums. I can't wait to drive!!! But all in all, the day was fun and the concert was rocking awesome even for a non-fan like me.

So yes, that was my very long life story. The whole of this short September holiday has been a nightmare from start to upcoming finish. Everyday, every single bloody day was spent in the artroom for coursework, including today, technically yesterday since its already 3am of Sunday morning now. I haven't got the time to catch up on the rest of my subjects. CHIONGING LIKE MAD TONIGHT! Not sleeping till later at 10pm. Hopefully can finish every other assignment besides Art prepboards, due friday for the real thing man. Scary! And my sculpture is still not done, half a face left!

Till i the next time see you, goodbye! I will survive 0_O
